Why consider corn burning stoves? Great question! The following frequently asked questions offer insight into why an increasing number of people are choosing to heat their homes with corn pellet stoves.
Where does DR Corn Stoves sell corn burning stoves?
DR Corn Stoves is a Southern Illinois corn stove dealer. We often meet customers who aren’t local - anywhere from St. Louis to Paduchah. Give us a call to see if we can make delivery possible. If not, call us anyway, we’ll recommend a local dealer if we know one.
Can corn burning stoves be installed in a fire place?
Yes, this unit sits on the hearth, back up against the opening, sealing it, then exhausting up the fireplace.
Will these stoves burn anything other than corn, rye and wheat?
We do have people, burning wood pellets in our stoves, but they are not certified for this, Also in some states, they burn Milo, something that they grow, but again this unit is not certified for this.
Can these corn pellet stoves be installed in a basement?
Yes, we do supply venting system through the wall for customers, but for basement installations the extra piping is at an addition cost.
Can these corn burning stoves be installed in an existing chimney?
Yes, again we supply you with the venting through the wall, extra venting is at an addition cost.
Can these stoves be plumed into duck work?
Sometimes, it depends the home and insulation, I do know of some, but in my case, it did not work.
Where can I get my corn, rye or wheat?
I would advise people to go to their local farmer and make a deal with them, when they start harvesting.
What is the best way to store my corn, rye or wheat fuel?
You can store fuel in 5 gallon pails with lids, old freezers that are no good, oil tanks, by cutting in half and putting hinges on the lids. Plastic grain bins, and/or garbage pails.
Do you offer a color choice with the corn pellet stoves?
We do have five colors, country blue, red, met.Green, Hunter green, plus the black.

Do I need to put anything under or around this unit?
An under lay is a good idea to help protect your carpet from the ash clinker just in case it’s dropped on accident.
Will a corn stove affect my fire insurance?
Our stove should not affect your insurance, but I would call your local fire insurance man to confirm, if they give you a problem, please call.
Do you deliver and install your corn burning stoves?
We do deliver into some parts of the area, but we do not install, please contact us for more information.
Does a warranty come with your corn pellet stoves?
There is a one years warranty on electrical and blowers. The rest of the stove we build, there is a stainless steel auger, the firebox is stainless steel, the whole stove is made of heavy steel, and we warranty for three years. (excluding glass)
Are technical engineers available?
There is someone here seven days a week, if you can’t reach us at that time in need.

Are replacement parts available?
Parts are available at all times, we can have them ordered in a 24 hr period, also it depends on the distance there going, if there is a technical problem, it could be solved over the phone.
Does the corn, rye or wheat need to be clean?
No, we have a floating auger, which gives us an advantage over other units, if anything foreign happens to get in the stove, it will move around, till the object is spit out into the firebox. You can burn mildew corn, cracked corn, burnt corn, and any grade of wheat or rye.
